Am 09. Juni 2024<\/strong> sind rund 350 Millionen wahlberechtigte Europ\u00e4er*innen aufgerufen, ein neues Europ\u00e4isches Parlament<\/strong> zu w\u00e4hlen. Zudem finden an diesem Sonntag in vielen Regionen Kommunalwahlen<\/strong> statt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durch den freien Zugang zu Informationen und Bildung, die Unterst\u00fctzung von Wissenschaft und Kultur sowie durch die Bereitstellung offener R\u00e4ume f\u00fcr alle B\u00fcrger*innen setzen sich Bibliotheken in ganz Deutschland tagt\u00e4glich f\u00fcr eine starke Demokratie ein. Bibliotheken f\u00f6rdern mit ihren zahlreichen Services und Angeboten den Umgang mit Medien und Informationen und erm\u00f6glich dadurch eine ausgewogene Einordnung gesellschaftlicher und politischer Debatten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Demokratie und Rechtsstaatlichkeit sind auf eine lebendige demokratische Kultur und somit auch auf eine aktive Nutzung des Wahlrechts<\/strong> angewiesen. Unter dem #W\u00e4hlenGehen<\/strong> rufen die Bibliotheken in Deutschland alle B\u00fcrger*innen dazu auf sich an der Europawahl 2024<\/strong> und den Kommunalwahlen<\/strong> zu beteiligen und ihre Stimme f\u00fcr eine starke Demokratie einzusetzen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 9, 2024, around 350 million Europeans entitled to vote will be called upon to elect a new European Parliament. Local elections will also be held in many regions on this Sunday in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By providing free access to information and education, supporting science and culture and providing open spaces for all citizens, libraries throughout Germany are working every day to promote a strong democracy. With their numerous services and offers, libraries promote the handling of media and information and thus enable a balanced classification of social and political debates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Democracy and the rule of law depend on a vibrant democratic culture and therefore also on the active use of the right to vote. Libraries in Germany are calling on all citizens to take part in the 2024 European elections and local elections and to use their vote for a strong democracy under the #W\u00e4hlenGehen campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
