Wie k\u00f6nnen wir Forschende<\/strong> der<\/strong> Universit\u00e4t Mannheim<\/strong> k\u00fcnftig besser bei der externen Wissenschaftskommunikation<\/strong> unterst\u00fctzen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Universit\u00e4tsbibliothek Mannheim<\/strong> f\u00fchrt derzeit eine Bedarfsanalyse<\/strong><\/a> durch. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage, welche Unterst\u00fctzungsbedarfe Forschende der Universit\u00e4t Mannheim im Bereich externer Wissenschaftskommunikation haben und welche Rolle wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken dabei einnehmen k\u00f6nnen. Die Umfrage richtet sich explizit an alle Wissenschaftler*innen der Universit\u00e4t Mannheim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unter externer Wissenschaftskommunikation verstehen wir Aktivit\u00e4ten, die wissenschaftliche Inhalte an au\u00dferwissenschaftliche \u00d6ffentlichkeiten vermitteln oder den Dialog zwischen Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft f\u00f6rdern. Dazu z\u00e4hlen neben klassischen Ver\u00f6ffentlichungen zum Beispiel \u00f6ffentliche Vortr\u00e4ge, Interviews und Beitr\u00e4ge in traditionellen Medien, Social-Media-Aktivit\u00e4ten, Blogs, Podcasts, Veranstaltungen und Ausstellungen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Ergebnisse der Umfrage helfen uns dabei, bestehende Angebote weiterzuentwickeln und zuk\u00fcnftige Services der Universit\u00e4tsbibliothek Mannheim noch besser an den Bedarfen der Forschenden auszurichten. Die Teilnahme ist freiwillig<\/strong> und anonym<\/strong>. Die Bearbeitung dauert ca. 8\u201310 Minuten<\/strong>. Die Umfrage ist bis einschlie\u00dflich 17. Juli 2026<\/strong> ge\u00f6ffnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Survey: Support Needs in Science Communication<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

How can we better support researchers at the University of Mannheim<\/strong> in communicating their research beyond academia?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mannheim University Library<\/strong> is currently conducting a needs assessment<\/a><\/strong>. The survey focuses on the question of what kinds of support researchers at the University of Mannheim require in the area of external science communication and what role academic libraries can play in this context. The survey is specifically aimed at all researchers at the University of Mannheim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this survey, external science communication refers to activities that communicate scholarly content to audiences outside academia or promote dialogue between science and society. In addition to traditional publications, this includes, for example, public lectures, interviews and articles in traditional media, social media activities, blogs, podcasts, events, and exhibitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The results of the survey will help us further develop existing services and align future services of Mannheim University Library more closely with the needs of researchers. Participation is voluntary<\/strong> and anonymous<\/strong>. Completing the survey will take approximately 8\u201310 minutes<\/strong>. The survey is open until 17 July 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
