Gordon Meade was born and brought up in Scotland, attended the Universities of Dundee and Newcastle Upon Tyne and now lives, with his family, in Fife where he divides his time between his own writing and running creative writing courses for various organisations. After publishing more than half a dozen volumes of poetry – including his celebrated The Cleaner Fish (2006) and The Private Zoo  (2008) – he is at present involved in a combined creative arts project for a number of schools in Fife, incorporating creative writing, drama, dance, music, animation and visual art. He has recently been appointed as the Royal Literary Fund Fellow of the University of Dundee.

Until recently Desmond Graham was Professor of Poetry at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. As an Emeritus he is now a fulltime writer with homes in Newcastle and Southern Germany. His poems, including his After Shakespeare (2001), his Milena Poems (2004) and his Heart Work (2007) have been widely published, broadcast and anthologized, and some have been translated into Polish and French. He is also well known as the cotranslator of the major Polish poet Anna Kamienska and as the biographer and editor of the poet Keith Douglas.

AFTER THE READING YOU ARE WELCOME TO DISCUSS THE POETIC ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TWO POETS AND TO INDULGE IN SOME BREAD AND WINE.

  1. Katja Bär sagt:

Habe Gordon Meade vor vielen Jahren schon einmal gehört. Wunderbare Poesie mit viel Meer und Sand und Fischen. Freue mich auf so zwei großartige Dichter im Dopplepack.
