Auch nach den Rekordwerten der letzten Wochen führen die sommerlichen Temperaturen in der Universitätsbibliothek zu erhöhtem Kühlungsbedarf.
Folgende Benutzungsbereiche der Bibliothek sind mit Lüftungsanlagen mit Kühlfunktion ausgestattet:
- Ausleihzentrum Schloss Westflügel
- Bibliotheksbereich Schloss Schneckenhof (ausgenommen Learning Center, Leisesaal und Gruppenarbeitszone im Erdgeschoss)
- Bibliotheksbereich Schloss Ehrenhof (ausgenommen Bibliothek für Accounting & Taxation sowie die Gruppenarbeitsräume im 3. Obergeschoss)
- Bibliotheksbereich A3 (voraussichtlich ab August wieder geöffnet)
Kurzfristige auftretende technische Probleme der Anlagen, die zu Störungen oder Ausfällen führen, werden von den zuständigen Stellen schnellstmöglich behoben. Bitte haben Sie Verständnis dafür, dass die Mitarbeitenden in den Bibliotheksbereichen und auch der Wachdienst selbst keinen Zugriff auf die technischen Anlagen haben. In länger anhaltenden Hitzeperioden mit Spitzenwerten deutlich über 30 Grad stoßen die Klimaanlagen an ihre Leistungsgrenzen, so dass während extremer Hitzeereignisse mit Einschränkungen der Kühlung oder zeitweisen Ausfällen zu rechnen ist, die kurzfristig nicht behoben werden können.
Sollte die Temperatur während einer Hitzewelle in einzelnen Benutzungsbereichen durch den Ausfall der Klimatisierung ein vertretbares Maß überschreiten, kann es notwendig werden, Bibliotheksbereiche vorübergehend zu schließen, um die Gesundheit und Sicherheit der Nutzenden zu schützen. Uns ist bewusst, dass hohe Temperaturen das Lernen und Arbeiten erheblich erschweren. Wir setzen alles daran, Ihnen auch an heißen Tagen möglichst gute Lern- und Arbeitsbedingungen zu bieten und informieren Sie über aktuelle Entwicklungen und notwendige Maßnahmen so früh wie möglich.

Air Conditioning in the Subject Libraries
Even after the record highs of recent weeks, the summer temperatures in the University Library continue to result in increased cooling requirements.
The following subject libaries are equipped with ventilation systems with cooling functions:
- Central Lending Library Schloss Westflügel
- Schloss Schneckenhof Library (except for the Learning Center, Leisesaal and group study zone on the ground floor)
- Schloss Ehrenhof Library (except for the Library for Accounting & Taxation and the group study rooms on the 3rd floor)
- A3 Library (expected to reopen from August)
Technical problems with the systems that occur at short notice and lead to disruptions or outages will be resolved as quickly as possible by the responsible staff. Please understand that staff in the University Library and the security service themselves do not have access to the technical systems. During prolonged heat periods with peak temperatures well above 30 degrees Celsius, the air-conditioning systems reach their performance limits, meaning that restrictions to cooling or temporary outages must be expected during extreme heat events and cannot be remedied at short notice.
If, during a heatwave, temperatures in individual subject libraries exceed an acceptable level due to a failure of the air conditioning, it may become necessary to temporarily close subject libraries in order to protect the health and safety of our visitors. We are aware that high temperatures make studying and working considerably more difficult. We are doing everything we can to provide you with the best possible study and working conditions even on hot days, and will inform you of current developments and necessary measures as early as possible.
